If you have enjoyed watching '2001: A Space Odyssey' or you have reflected upon some other such works, then, you might consider the fact that most of the estimates about space have been incorrect.
I read somewhere, that by the year 2050 we will start driving air bikes and air scooters; well, that does not seem impossible yet, highly improbable by the pace of the things ( but since you can take into the account some 'sudden leaps', it cannot be entirely repudiated)
Arthur C Clarke imagined a world in which we were capable of reaching to Jupiter by 2001; but even in 2011, the ( proposed) fact that any man ever stepped on Moon is a moot point.
Is it: that the progress on the front of space has been much less than what was imagined ?
What do you think?
Do you think that space Odysseys similar to those shown in 2001: A Space Odyssey would become possible by 2050 or by 3001 for that matter?
[ I think such estimates often get setbacks by random events]
Do you think that two world wars have made it difficult for man to step outside this planet or they have helped it?
